Episode 10 Conversation with Louise Stapleton-Frappell Louise and I first became acquainted back in 2013, when I started the Facebook page Your Pit Bull and You. We’ve stayed in touch over the years and our shared love of bully breeds has resulted in many interesting conversations over the years, but none as interesting as this. Louise is a very busy woman, who dedicates her time and expertise to a variety of organizations and initiatives, including her own business The DogSmith of Estepona, as well as The Pet Professional Guild (PPG), The Pet Professional Guild British Isles (PPGBI), Doggone Safe, and The Dognostics Career Center For those interested in learning more about Breed Specific Legislation (BSL) and its effects, check out these links: The Pet Professional Guild Position Statement on Breed Specific Legislation and What the Experts Say. Louise shared some eye-opening information on BSL in Spain, which she’s particularly well-versed in because of their impact on her beloved (and extremely awesome) dog Jambo Louise is on the Steering Committee for the PPG, who recently made the bold decision to move their annual summit to Arizona Humane due to commitment to the use of humane equipment and methods and supporting organizations with the same philosophy. She runs Kristi Benson Dog Training in Manitoba, Canada and is one of my coworkers at The Academy for Dog Trainers. Kristi is also often quoted as an expert in mainstream publications, making her one of dog training’s shining stars.
